Gurgaon,11th July 2011: The young sparks of GEMS International School (GIS), Palam Vihar, Gurgaon joined BIG M, one of India’s leading radio channel in its awareness drive against the hazards of ever growing world population at the channel’s Studio in New Delhi. The population boom demands immediate attention to curtail future irreparable damage and GEMS International School owned by GEMS Education, world’s largest K-12 school operator, has stepped in to shoulder this cause as a responsible school by creating awareness on World Population Day. The GISians displayed their sensibility and concern towards this grave issue and brought alive the image of an overcrowded world. Together with popular child artists ……… students from GEMS International School expressed their feelings of living in a populous country and did a gig to demonstrate the adversities of an over populated, crowded and burdened existence. The students also spoke about the vicious circle of population which further leads to numerous other world problems like poverty, illiteracy, deterioration of resources and many more.
Commenting on this, Sudha Rajamohan, Principal, GEMS International School said, "GEMS believes in preparing its students for the real world. The growing population in India and elsewhere is a big issue that needs to be addressed actively by our World Leaders.
