Annual Day 2011
GEMS International School Palam Vihar organized its first ever Annual Day Celebration SPARKLING GEMS 2011 on 19th February, 2011.- a grand celebration which saw the little stars twinkle on the grounds of the school.
From tiny toddlers to teenyboppers, the event encouraged, gave rewards & an opportunity to the students to showcase their talent.
The event opened with the lamp lighting ceremony by the guests of honour followed by the mesmerizing Indian Fusion Dance : ‘ Mangalacharan’ performed by the primary and middle school girls of the School, which covered major classical dances across the country.
CEO GEMS Schools Poonam Kashyap passionately presented the welcome address. Sudha Rajamohan, school’s principal, read out the school’s annual report highlighting the prominent achievements of the school during this academic year in scholastic and co-scholastic areas and reiterated the importance of parental engagement in partnership with the school.
The cultural bonanza with 100% participation of students enthralled the parents. The preschoolers swayed to the tunes of nursery rhymes in ‘The Animal Kingdom’ - a journey well taken to the wild. This was followed by a play by the primary and middle school children called, “Together we can” which enforced the importance of community work. During its course of storytelling there were also a few dance performances entailed in between like Jazz, Japanese Dance & Bhangra that left the audience spellbound at the students’ caliber and poise. Chief Guest of the evening Mr. Satinder Kumar, the director of Goenka Schools and Punam Kashyap presented recognition certificates to young achievers.
Appreciating the conducive learning environment and excellent infrastructure of the school Mr Kumar addressed the august gathering and motivated the parents for strengthening school home connections through close networking. He congratulated the students’ effort on putting up a grand show on their maiden annual celebration event.
The event concluded with vote of thanks rendered by school’s head girl & National Song sung by the school choir. |
