Awards & Achievements
Last year heralded another successful university application season for Dubai American Academy class of 2012 graduates. With over 1,000 university applications processed graduates received over 500 acceptances from nearly 400 universities. Students will continue their education in nine countries, with the largest percentage going to the United States, followed by Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia. Students in the class of 2012 received acceptances at top universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, McGill University, University of California Berkeley, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, London School of Economics, Warwick University, and Queen Mary University.
Financial aid offers from universities totaled more than $500,000.00 with St. Johns University in the United States leading with $35,000.00. Boston University, Pace University, Syracuse University and Rollins College also offered the most sizeable financial aid packages to our students applying to the United States. The University of Toronto, Queens University, and McMasters offered the most aid to applicants planning to attend universities in Canada.
Last year’s graduates are reporting a good beginning at their respective universities upon completing the college application process at Dubai American Academy.
Academic Performance
DAA has an eight year history of helping students to achieve excellent IB results. From our very first year of offering the IB Diploma program, DAA’s students have scored significantly above the world averages in both individual subjects and overall results. Our program has grown substantially over the years to include all students who wish to undertake the challenging diploma program.
The IB exam results for the Class of 2011 are evidence of the outstanding results our students enjoy.

73% of the graduating class opted to participate in the full IB diploma program, which is our highest percentage ever. Our results are particularly impressive given that we allow all interested students to attempt the full diploma.

In addition to 91 diploma students, DAA had 34 certificate students in 2011.

90% pass rate for the diploma, which will be well above the world average

DAA students took IB exams in 40 different subjects; in 27 of those subject, our students’ average score was above worldwide averages

In 30 out of 35 subject areas, DAA’s average exam score was higher than last year, demonstrating continuing improvement on already high levels of success
