Message from our Honorary Chairman, President Bill Clinton

Over the past few years, it has become obvious, at least to me, that the role that private Foundations and NGOs play in making a positive contribution to our world has moved from being peripheral to critical.

This is why I am delighted to accept your invitation to serve as the Honorary Chairman of the Varkey GEMS Foundation.

You have committed to truly inspiring work, work that is exactly what the world needs. All those who support this Foundation should know that they make a vital contribution to the lives of those who simply do not have the opportunities that we do.

Whether you are a student in a GEMS school, a parent, a teacher, or simply a well-wisher, mark my words, this Foundation’s focus on promoting a shift in how children are taught will have a major impact on the quality of their lives, their family’s lives, and their community’s. Over the next six months, the Foundation is unveiling a variety of ways in which we can all work together to make a material difference to some of the poorest communities in the world.
