 JPS Camps and Outdoor Trips

Every year all of the children in upper Key Stage 2 are able to be involved in an outdoor experience, ranging from a day trip to the desert to camping out in the wilderness.

Camps are vital part of the learning that happens in JPS; it directly relates to our SECRET and gives children the skills to become lifelong learners. They build confidence, Self-Management skills and have the opportunity of be a part of a team in a fun, safe and exciting environment.

School camps are memory making moments, which children get the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and try new activities and learn new skills.

This year we worked closely with Ecoventure to develop camps for Year 3, 4, 5 and 6. Year 3 ventured into the desert to search for dinosaurs footprints during their IPC topic, Dinosaurs.

They had great time being archeologists for the day, actually discovering some rare footprints of aVelociraptor! Year 4 got the opportunity to sleep over night at the Ecoventure Field Studies Centre, learning lots about the local environment and animals.

Year 5 had a wet time during their camp, the Dhow trip was a definite highlight for everyone. Lastly, the Year 6 had fun canoeing, kayaking and learning some important survival skills.

All camps were a great success, thanks to all the instructors, teachers and children for making it such a memorable experience!
