Departments and Subjects

All students follow a common curriculum that ensures continuity of study for students who may transfer to or from other English National Curriculum schools around the world. The subjects available at Jumeirah College are:

Key Stage 3 (Years 7,8 and 9)

English, Mathematics, Science, French, Spanish, Arabic (for all) and Islamic Studies (muslim students), Design Technology, Drama, ICT, Geography, History, Music, Art,  Physical Education, PSHCE and Cultural Studies. Accelerated GCSE's in Core Subjects are studied in Term 3 of Year 9.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11)

Students in Years 10 and 11 will study GCSE courses with with access of up to nine examination subjects. The curriculum subjects to be available are:

Compulsory Subjects (4): English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, PSHCE and Core Physical Education.

Optional Subjects (4) from: Arabic, Art & Design,  Business Studies, Computing, Dance, Design Technology - Graphic Products, Design Technology - Product Design, Design Technology - Resistant Materials, Drama, Economics, French, Spanish, Geography, History, ICT,  Music, GCSE Physical Education - Full Course, GCSE Physical Education - Short Course, Psychology, Religious Studies - Islam

Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13)

During the final two years of College, students sit for AS and A levels. Again, a wide range of subjects are offered which assist in preparing students for higher studies or a multitude of career opportunities.

Key leadership qualities are very important in these senior years. Students in these classes will be challenged to accept and develop responsibilities as leaders and citizens of the world.
