SHEIKH HAMDAN AWARD 2011-2012

 (PRESTIGIOUS AWARD FOR DISTINGUISHED ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE)This Award instituted by H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Minister of Finance, for recognizing outstanding achievers in academics and co‐curricular activities. This is one of the most coveted awards a student can win in the gulf region. The award has a geographical coverage of the whole UAE and GCC countries.  They were selected from among the best entries from various schools across all emirates in the UAE and GCC countries. The award was declared after several stages of screening by KHDA (Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Dubai), and a final interview by the Sheikh Hamdan Award committee. The award consists of a cash award of Dhs.20,000/- and memento along with certificate. H. E. Humaid Mohamed Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Education and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

 Pooja Vinod from grade IX and Mariam Mathews from grade X of Our Own English High School, Dubai won the prestigious Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Distinguished Student for the year 2011-2012.
