SCHEME OF ASSESSMENT

EXAMINATIONS AND PROMOTION
 
The following is the scheme of examinations, promotion criteria and syllabus of the various grades. Students are continuously assesses and evaluated in the acquisition of knowledge and understanding.
 
KG
 There is no formal examination for KG classes. Teachers assess and monitor the progress of each student on an on-going basis. A record of the child’s performance is maintained.
 
 
GRADES 1 TO 4
 
To shift the focus of academics activities towards enrichment of the total personality of the learners and to facilitate the learners to address various facets of learning such as the cognitive affective, and psychomotor domains and to de-stress learning so that undue focus is not given to the terminal examination in the form of assessments.
The assessments will be conducted in class and will be based on the following skills.
 
ENGLISH and SECOND LANGUAGE
 
Reading : Pronunciation, Fluency, Comprehension
Writing : Creative writing, Handwriting, Grammar, Spelling,     Vocabulary
Speaking Skills: Conversation, Recitation
Listening Skills: Comprehension
Extra Reading and Project Works
 
MATHEMATICS
 
Concept, Activity, Tables, Mental Ability and Written Work
 
ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES ( SOCIAL STUDIES )
Environmental Sensitivity, Activity and Project .Group Discussion and Written Work.
 
SCIENCE
Concept, Activity/Project, Scientific Skills and Group Discussion.
 Written Work.
 
COMPUTERS :
 
Skills and Aptitude
Written Assessment will be conducted twice a term in May, June, October, December, January and March.
 
 
Grades 5 to 12
  • The academic year is divided into two terms.
  •  There will be two formative assessments in each term
  • There will  be one Summative Examination in each term  for Grades  5-11 [Summative 1 and Summative 2]
  •  In the Summative Examination for Grades 5 to 10, the assessment will be    strictly based on the portion for each term.
  •  In the Summative Examination for Grades 11 & 12, the assessment will    include the syllabus of the current and previous terms . 
  • Grade 12 will have a Model Exam.
  • Monthly tests are conducted for Grades 10 and 12 on a regular basis.
  • Answer papers of the 2nd Summative Examination will not be shown or returned to the students.
