Extra Curricular

GEMS Royal Dubai School provides a rich extra-curricular programme that supports students' all-round development, this will provide opportunities for students to develop their talents and explore new interests. Activities include both individual pursuits and team building activities.

We offer an exciting array of activities to develop existing interests and explore new ones. These range from ballet, karate, football, swimming, tennis and art on the premises to horse riding at a nearby stables. The list grows all the time, as by listening to our pupils and their parents we are continually developing our range of opportunities. We want school days to be exciting, memorable and fun. Our extra-curricular activities are designed to embellish the curriculum and to complement the all round development of our pupils.

Students may choose from a wide variety of options that include:

These activities are held in world-class facilities, which can be seen in our Facilities section. A variety of outdoor and sporting activities are offered at GEMS Royal Dubai School including:

Extra-Curricular Programmes change each term and students have an opportunity to make choices for up to 3 activities.   The activities available to them may depend on year group and how many in the group.

The PE Department

GEMS Royal Dubai School features two swimming pools, one shallow for young beginners and one full size for a whole range of water activities.  In addition to the extensive grounds the school also features a multi-purpose hall and activity rooms for such things as dance and karate.

A programme of activities beyond the school day and campus enhance the P.E. curriculum and encourage team building and leadership skills. We will share all of these talents with parents and the wider community through a kaleidoscope of concerts, exhibitions, open days and evenings. 

E-Sports

E-Sports is Dubai's leading sports training academy for both children and adults of all levels. These programs include, tennis, football, swimming, cricket, rugby, climbing, holiday camps and much more. Our main aim is to provide all students with the knowledge and tools to better themselves within the sport, with the focus on enjoyment through learning

GEMS have engaged the services of E-Sports for additional activities and these will run after our free school based activities. There are costs for all these activities as detailed on the attached schedule. Places are not guaranteed and are allocated if vacancies are available and on a first come, first served basis at the specific sign up days allocated to the various schools.

However, as we cannot have unsupervised children at school waiting to attend a club which starts later in the day, we ask you to please select a school club which slots in on the same day as your paid activity, unless you are prepared to collect at 2.50pm and return your child to their coaching session at the later time.
