Welcome from the Headmaster

I am immensely proud of our exceptional Hampshire School. Superb facilities, delightful children, and impressive staff combine to create a dynamic educational community in central London.

As well as delivering a top class British curriculum, we also want our children to enjoy their journey of learning and to realise their full potential. Academic success is crucial, and we pride ourselves on tracking pupils’ progress from the moment they begin at our school in order to ensure they are achieving their potential and beyond. Mapping a child’s academic, social and emotional profile against possible senior schools means that Hampshire School is optimally suited to advise and guide pupils and parents to the very best senior schools for their child.

The school has an intriguing history. We are proud of the traditions of our past but are also always looking forward. The result is a 21st century education in which the old traditions of social and academic discipline are fused with modern learning techniques – the children use iPads as a natural resource, while composing music using Garage Band and making films on iMovie.

Our duty is to enable children to learn about themselves as well as the world around them. So we stimulate them right from the Early Years schooling to develop inquiring minds and be effective participants, to relish independence and build emotional resilience. In an ever changing world, the key skills of resourcefulness, reflection, entrepreneurial thinking are criticial to a child’s success.

At Hampshire, we believe every child aged 3 to 13 has the right to a world class education that meets their individual needs. The result of this secure and happy learning environment is that our children leave the school as charming, enthusiastic young people with an appetite for learning and thirst for knowledge.

Our extra-curricular provision is outstanding. We provide a comprehensive programme of sport, cultural and performing arts beyond the school day as well as access to holiday camps and residential trips in our local community and across Europe.
Integral to each child’s successful learning and the pursuit of excellence, is the relationship between home and school, so we place great value on our working partnership with parents. We have an active Parents’ Association that is involved in many aspects of school life. From National Poetry Day to school uniform provision, these parents are committed to providing the best possible educational experience for all the children at the school.
We hope that our website gives something of the flavour of Hampshire School. If you would like to experience the school in person, you are very welcome to visit us on a normal school day. Please phone us on 0207 352 7077 or email us at info@ghs.gemsedu.co.uk for more information.

I look forward to meeting you.
