Early Years

The curriculum in the Early Years follows the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines. We encourage children to develop their social, language, aestheic and academic skills through play, music, drama, art, physical education and practical activities. As they progress through Kindergarten, basic letter and number work leads into the reading and mathematics schemes used in Reception. Here, children recieve tuition in reading, writing and number work at a pace suited to their individual needs. Our aim is to build a solid foundation for the children on which they can grow throughout their school career.

The move into the Pre-Prep section is merely a change of building, not a change of school. Continuity with the Early Years section is maintained and the children continue to progress from the level of attainment reached at the end of their Early Years education.

The children's basic academic skills are reinforced and extended through reading, writing, mathematics, science and the use of information and communication technology (ICT). This ensures they have a solid academic foundation on which to build for progression through the school. In addition, they follow a programme of stimulating project work and a wide range of creative and physical activities.
