Friends of Sherfield (FOS) is a dynamic community comprising parents, pupils and staff. The group organises fun social events and raises funds for charities and the school.

FOS events are always well supported. As well as being great fun they help to bring staff, parents, friends, and the local community together socially in support of the school.

We have a regular calendar of events throughout the year that offers something for everyone!

Our Quiz and Curry Night held in February each year is always very popular.

Easter time sees our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Sponsored Walk. Early summer generally heralds the Summer Ball - a wonderful evening of glitz and glamour, including a casino with live music and dancing. 

The Christmas Fayre is another big FOS event. It’s hugely successful and brings together not only the school and parents but also the local community. 

As well as these large events, we are also involved in smaller ones throughout the year - please see the events calendar for details. We also help out at events organised by the pupils and school such as discos and the Valentines lunchtime sale.

FOS Needs Your Help

We are always looking for support from parents and there are many ways you can help with FOS. You can join our committee, become a class liaison representative, or just provide support as and when you can.

Three quick, easy, and free ways to raise money for FOS.

Easy Fundraising

Register with Easy Fundraising. You can then choose to shop from over 2000 of the UK's best-known retailers and up to 15% is donated to FOS from every purchase you make when you shop using the links on the website.

It doesn't cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds for us by using this site. And as many retailers now give extra discounts when you buy online, you can even save money! 

Gift Aid

If you are a UK Taxpayer, please complete a Gift Aid declaration form. This allows us to claimback 28p for every pound you donate. Forms are sent with the invoices for school fees but if you haven’t yet completed one email fos@gss.gemsedu.co.uk. Please return your completed form to reception.

Company Matched Giving

If you are part of a company matched giving scheme, your employer agrees to donate an amount equal to the sum you have raised for FOS.
