Congratulations to Ali J on his footballing success
Name: Ali J
Age: 14
Favourite Sport: Football
Sporting Hero: Ashley Cole
Supports: Chelsea or Whoever is winning!
Ali has been an excellent team player at Sherfield for the past three years. He represents the school in our football, rugby, cricket, cross country and athletics teams. He has continued to develop his skills in each of these sports and has become an important first team player in all of them.
Ali’s main sport, however, is football. He plays at an excellent standard of football for Reading Royal’s competing in the Premier Elite League. Ali will also start a second year with Reading FC elite squad where he trains and plays matches at the Madjeski Stadium.
On top of this Ali has worked his way through the ranks with the ISFA Football teams from district to county and now incredibly NATIONALLY! Ali is part of the ISFA National squad and has even captained one of the teams regularly playing first team football.
Ali works hard at his sport in school and has shown dedication and commitment toward his football over the last two years. He is a sport leader within school and any pupil in the primary school, year 7 or year 8 should take note of Ali’s excellent attitude and effort in his sport. The PE Department and school are hugely proud of Ali’s achievements and long may it continue.

Music Examination Success
At Sherfield School we encourage our music students to enter for music exams, as this gives them a goal to work towards and a sense of achievement. During the Spring Term, a number of Sherfield pupils were entered for the Associated Board and Trinity music exams and they performed exceedingly well. Their results show the dedication and commitment of both the input of our dedicated and highly qualified team of visiting instrumental teachers, as well as the hard work that the pupils put into their practice sessions at home! We are very proud of all their excellent achievements as always.
The instruments that they were examined in were Violin, Piano, Saxophone, Trumpet, Recorder and voice. There were also six singers and three who took their Grade 5 Music Theory exams. Here are the results in detail.
