Welcome Letter

September 8, 2013

Dear Bradenton Prep Academy Families and Friends,

We are off to a great start of the new school year! It was wonderful to see so many happy smiles and excited students around campus. To make our days go smooth, we would like to inform you of the following procedures:

SCHOOL TIMING:

Pre-KG through Secondary Students may go to their classes any time after 8:15 a.m. Please do not drop off your children before 8:00 a.m. because we have no supervision.  Pre-KG through Grade 5 can be dropped off any time after 8:10 a.m. in their classrooms. Students in grades 6 through 12 are expected to be in the Auditorium by 8:25 a.m. for morning announcements starting promptly at 8:30 a.m.  KG2 through grade 12 students will be dismissed at 3:30 p.m. Parents should wait in the auditorium to pick up their children.

The school time for our Pre-KG and KG1 classes are as follows:

Pre-Kindergarten-   8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
KG1 - 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (parents have the option to decide if they wish to pick up their children at 2:30 p.m.; once the decision has been made, it will be for the remainder of the year)

NOTE: Early Dismissal on Tuesdays for all children at 2:30 p.m. due to our teachers taking part of professional development programs. There will be no after school activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays!

UNIFORMS:

Uniforms will not change this year. If possible, please purchase Black or White Activity shoes (trainers) with non-marking soles, dress shoes may be needed for school presentations. No sandals or open toe shoes are permitted on campus. Since our elementary students have 4 times a week PE, the children have the choice of wearing their regular or PE uniform during PE lessons. The uniform store Zacks (Motor City) is selling white Quick Dry T shirts (the same shirts as the uniforms) and micro fiber shorts for PE. We were promised today that all sizes are available. As communicated, we are transitioning to new uniforms for next year; until we design a proper uniform, we did not want to burden our parents with purchasing too many uniforms for this academic year.

Lunches:
Accuro is GEMS’ food provider and they will open their “store” tomorrow and sell beverages, healthy bars, cereals, cookies, bread bits, fruits, salads, and more (see attached menu).

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.

Kind Regards,

Dr. Connie Weiner & Team
