Admissions Process
We extend a warm invitation to prospective parents to visit us and see the school in action. The initial visit is always the most important for this is when you will ‘feel’ if Moor Allerton is the right school for you and your child. Visits take place Monday to Friday during the normal school day. To arrange an appointment simply telephone us (0161 445 4521) or mail (office@moorallertonschool.manchster.sch.uk).
During your visit you will have the opportunity to meet and talk with staff and pupils, whilst your child may either accompany you or enjoy some play-time (quite often preferred by younger children). The school’s main intake is in September but new pupils may join us at any time throughout the year, providing we have places available.
Registration
If you feel that Moor Allerton is the school for you and your child, you will be required to formally register by paying a £200 Registration fee (which covers the cost of processing your application and your child’s assessment). Children who are already attending school or nursery are required to provide a report from their current school.
Assessment
All prospective pupils are assessed before receiving confirmation of a formal offer from the Headmaster. The assessment normally take place in the term prior to the child’s commencement. All assessments are informal to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience for your child.
Infant and Reception children (3-5 years) are invited to spend a morning in school, where they will mix with their peers and complete simple tasks appropriate to their age. Children aged 5–11 years are invited for a full day assessment. They will work alongside their peers in the classroom and will complete tasks in English and Mathematics.
