Emily Ellington

Head of Inclusion

Emily joined GEMS Education in August 2019 and is a proud alumnus from Jumeirah College, Dubai. She provides strategic leadership for the Inclusion agenda across GEMS schools in the UAE.

Prior to joining GEMS Education, Emily was the Head of SEND and Inclusion for a large West-London Local Authority. During her time in this previous post, she led the implementation of the SEND Reform and successfully supported her authority through its first Ofsted/CQC Local Area SEND Inspection. She transformed services to align with new legislative requirements and managed multiple teams providing support to educational settings in relation to SEND.

Emily has directly supported children and young people with SEND within both primary and secondary schools and is individually trained on a number of evidence-based interventions such as PECS and Attention Autism. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Post-graduate Diploma in Integrated Counselling and a Master’s Degree in Special and Additional Learning needs. 

She believes wholeheartedly in inclusive education and insists on maintaining high expectations for all learners.
