Aster DM Healthcare and GEMS Education partner to provide students real-world healthcare experience through Aster Discover

• The initiative aligns with both organisations’ shared commitment to bringing learning to life and preparing the next generation for careers of the future
• GEMS students will have the opportunity to join Aster Discover, a structured high school internship and leadership engagement programme featuring immersive placements within the healthcare ecosystem

GEMS Education has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aster DM Healthcare to provide students with career exposure in the healthcare sector, enabling them to translate classroom learning into real-world application.

The strategic partnership reflects a shared commitment by both organisations to ensure industry-linked learning and advancing career readiness across GEMS Education’s schools. It also supports wider efforts to inspire and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals in the UAE and wider region.

The collaboration is part of GEMS Education’s broader strategy to build a global ecosystem of industry partners that support student employability and future-focused learning. It also builds on the broader collaboration between Aster DM Healthcare and GEMS Education, which previously included a health and wellness partnership across GEMS schools in the UAE.

The MoU establishes a scalable framework for ongoing collaboration under the Aster Discover initiative. Launched in 2022, the high school internship and leadership engagement programme is designed to provide students with practical exposure, mentorship, and insight into the breadth of clinical and non-clinical career pathways within the healthcare ecosystem. Nearly 50 students have participated in the programme across five successful editions.

Internships will be designed in line with relevant regulatory and patient safety guidelines. While students will gain meaningful exposure to healthcare environments, direct clinical shadowing opportunities may be limited in certain areas due to compliance requirements.

The Aster Discover programme will accept two cohorts of 20 GEMS students each for immersive placements over a two-week period during July/August and December, coinciding with school holidays. Internships will be offered across healthcare operations as well as selected enabling or support functions, providing students with meaningful exposure to the wider healthcare ecosystem.

The programme is designed around two integrated components, beginning with structured internship exposure across healthcare and support functions, alongside a leadership engagement series that offers students direct interaction with senior leaders through talks, interactive Q&A sessions, and employer-branding touchpoints.

سيستفيد الطلاب من التعرف المبكر على المهن السريرية وغير السريرية بما يسهم في تعزيز وضوح مساراتهم المهنية وفهمهم العملي للقطاع

أعلنت جيمس للتعليم عن توقيع مذكرة تفاهم مع أستر دي إم للرعاية الصحية، بهدف تزويد الطلاب بفرص للتعرف على المسارات المهنية في قطاع الرعاية الصحية، بما يتيح لهم تحويل ما يتعلمونه داخل الصفوف الدراسية إلى تطبيقات عملية واقعية. وتعكس هذه الشراكة الاستراتيجية التزاماً مشتركاً من المؤسستين بضمان توفير تجارب تعليمية مرتبطة بالقطاع وتعزيز جاهزية الطلاب للمسارات المهنية المستقبلية عبر مدارس جيمس للتعليم. كما تدعم الجهود الأوسع الرامية إلى إلهام وإعداد الجيل القادم من المتخصصين في الرعاية الصحية في دولة الإمارات والمنطقة.

وتأتي هذه الشراكة في إطار استراتيجية جيمس للتعليم الأوسع لبناء منظومة عالمية من شركاء القطاع الداعمين لتعزيز قابلية توظيف الطلاب وترسيخ نماذج التعلم المرتبطة بمتطلبات المستقبل. كما تستند إلى التعاون القائم بين أستر دي إم للرعاية الصحية وجيمس للتعليم، والذي شمل سابقاً شراكة في مجال الصحة والعافية عبر مدارس جيمس في دولة الإمارات.

وتؤسس مذكرة التفاهم إطاراً قابلاً للتوسع للتعاون المستمر ضمن مبادرة "أستر ديسكفر". وأُطلق البرنامج عام 2022، وهو برنامج منظم للتدريب العملي والتفاعل القيادي لطلبة المدارس الثانوية، صُمم لتزويد الطلاب بخبرات عملية وإرشاد مهني ورؤية شاملة حول المسارات المهنية السريرية وغير السريرية ضمن منظومة الرعاية الصحية. وقد شارك في البرنامج ما يقارب 50 طالباً وطالبة عبر خمس دورات ناجحة حتى الآن.

وسيتم تصميم فرص التدريب العملي بما يتوافق مع الأنظمة واللوائح ذات الصلة وإرشادات سلامة المرضى. وفي حين سيحظى الطلاب بفرص قيمة للتعرف على بيئات الرعاية الصحية عن قرب، فقد تكون فرص المتابعة المباشرة لبعض الممارسات السريرية محدودة في بعض المجالات نظراً لمتطلبات الامتثال التنظيمي.

وفي تعليقه على هذه الشراكة، قال دينو فاركي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة جيمس للتعليم: ""لا يزال قطاع الرعاية الصحية من أكثر المسارات المهنية جذباً لطلاب جيمس، حيث يواصل أكثر من ربع خريجينا مسيرتهم المهنية في مجالات الطب وطب الأسنان والمهن الصحية المساندة وعلوم الرعاية الصحية والتخصصات ذات الصلة. ومن خلال شراكتنا مع أستر دي إم للرعاية الصحية، نوفر لطلابنا فرصاً حقيقية للتعرف عن قرب على واقع هذا القطاع، بدءاً من البيئات السريرية وعمليات الرعاية الصحية وصولاً إلى مجالات القيادة والابتكار. وفي جيمس للتعليم، نؤمن بأن الاستعداد للمستقبل المهني يجب أن يتجاوز حدود الصف الدراسي. وانسجاماً مع مستهدفات مئوية الإمارات 2071، نعمل على توفير المزيد من التجارب التعليمية العملية والتفاعلية التي يقودها خبراء القطاع للطلاب من الفئة العمرية بين 15 و18 عاماً، بما يساعدهم على اتخاذ قرارات أكثر وعياً بشأن مستقبلهم، ويمنحهم الثقة والرؤية والفهم العملي الذي تتطلبه القطاعات سريعة التطور اليوم ".

من جهتها، قالت أليشا موبين، المدير العام لمجموعة أستر دي إم للرعاية الصحية: "يحتاج قطاع الرعاية الصحية إلى المزيد من المواهب الشابة والعقول المبدعة للمساهمة في بناء مستقبل أكثر استدامة للبشرية من خلال التقدم السريري والابتكار والحلول العلاجية المتطورة. ويأتي برنامج "أستر ديسكفر" ليعرّف الطلاب على آليات عمل منظومة الرعاية الصحية، ويحفّز فضولهم ويشجعهم على استكشاف الفرص المهنية في هذا القطاع. وقد تم تصميم البرنامج ليكون منصة منظمة تقرب الطلاب من عالم الرعاية الصحية عبر تعريفهم بالوظائف السريرية وغير السريرية على حد سواء، إلى جانب إتاحة فرص للتفاعل مع القيادات والاستفادة من الإرشاد المهني. ومن خلال شراكتنا مع جيمس للتعليم، نسعى إلى مساعدة الطلاب على اكتساب قدر أكبر من الوضوح والثقة والفضول تجاه مساراتهم المستقبلية، مع الإسهام في إعداد الجيل القادم من الكفاءات المتخصصة في قطاع الرعاية الصحية".

وسيستقبل برنامج "أستر ديسكفر" مجموعتين من طلاب جيمس، تضم كل منهما 20 طالباً وطالبة، للمشاركة في فرص تدريبية ميدانية مكثفة لمدة أسبوعين خلال شهري يوليو/أغسطس وديسمبر، تزامناً مع العطل المدرسية. وستتاح فرص التدريب ضمن مجالات العمليات الصحية، إلى جانب عدد من الوظائف التمكينية والداعمة المختارة، بما يتيح للمشاركين التعرف بشكل أوسع على منظومة الرعاية الصحية.

ويعتمد البرنامج على محورين متكاملين، يبدأ أولهما بالتدريب العملي المنظم ضمن مجالات الرعاية الصحية والوظائف الداعمة، فيما يتمثل الثاني في برنامج للتفاعل القيادي يتيح للطلاب التواصل المباشر مع القيادات التنفيذية العليا من خلال جلسات تعريفية، وحوارات تفاعلية، وجلسات للأسئلة والأجوبة، وأنشطة تعزز فهمهم لبيئة العمل المؤسسية وتعريفهم بالجهات الموظفة.
