American Curriculum

While there is no central American curriculum, the common themes of enquiry-based learning and student-centred planning run throughout. This has made American international schools a popular choice, particularly for students wishing to enter into further education in North America.

The American curriculum is based on high standards of achievement in all subject areas. This broad and balanced approach is supported by a wide range of co-curricular activities, which equip students with the skills they need to thrive in the 21st century.

An American international school starts with entry to Kindergarten at age five. Students go on to study through to Grade 12, when they are awarded with the American High School Diploma at the age of 17. The American Diploma is accepted for entrance by all US universities and colleges and is increasingly recognised by other universities around the world as well.

Enquiry based, hands-on teaching

Our American curriculum schools offer a diverse and full range of enquiry-based, hands-on teaching methods and individualised instruction. All are accredited by renowned and highly respected bodies, such as the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
