Established in 2007, GEMS American Academy – Abu Dhabi, is a modern American curriculum international school located in the heart of Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi in the UAE. We welcome pupils aged from 3 -18, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, into our classrooms, offering a world-class education in line with high United States Common Core State Standards.

From our planetarium to our music technology lab, our campus in Khalifa City A is equipped with outstanding, cutting—edge facilities, designed to help our pupils get the absolute most from their education – and from their natural abilities.

We're passionate about providing our students with internationally recognised qualifications that give them a ticket to a bright, global future. But we're also committed to helping young people of all backgrounds and abilities discover their “personal best”, whether they're a talented swimmer or an aspiring actor.

On the sports pitch, pupils at GEMS American Academy – Abu Dhabi have the opportunity to play, compete and work together with their peers. Our outdoor pitches, indoor gymnasiums, swimming pool and indoor courts give all pupils the chance to find their favourite fitness class, from football to dance.

But it's not all fun and games! We also believe in nurturing creativity and curiosity. Perhaps your youngster is crazy about astronomy? Our planetarium will fuel their interest. Maybe your child has a musical talent? Our recording studio and diverse music classes will help them unleash it!

Whether you are new to GEMS American Academy, like me, or have been part of this wonderful school for many years, welcome!

I am delighted to be joining GAA, a school community about which I have heard so many positive things. One of the joys of each academic year is that it brings new opportunities and fresh beginnings. This year will be no exception. We welcome new faculty and staff, new students, and new families. At the same time, we also welcome back returning students who, although familiar faces, have grown, learned, and changed over the past few months.

GAA is widely recognized as an outstanding school, and one of my goals is to help make it even better wherever possible. Our experienced and talented teachers, together with our dedicated administrative leaders, are committed to ensuring that every student thrives. I have already met some of these professionals, and they are truly impressive.

One phrase I often use is our "Partnership with Parents." I firmly believe that when school and home work together, we create the best possible environment for children to flourish. I look forward to building those partnerships and joining this exceptional community of learners, caregivers, coaches, and advocates.

I've spent my career in numerous schools, serving in many roles, and I continue to love what I do. Every day, I have the privilege of watching students and adults experience growth and success. Witnessing hard work pay off, kindness inspire kindness, and the joy that comes from learning and belonging is the best part of being in schools.

I hope the 2026–2027 school year is the very best yet for your children and your family. As your partner, I will do everything in my power to help make that a reality.

Wishing you the very best along each step of the journey.

Warm regards,

Keith Chicquen
