How we hire

Combine your love for teaching with an international adventure or a local role

Last year we received nearly 250 applications a day from teachers around the world wanting to work at GEMS.

We hired less than 2%

Selecting the very best teachers for our schools from so many high quality applicants is a tough task, and we take it as a huge compliment that so many educators around the world would like to become part of the team.

It takes more than a teaching degree

Of course, all of our GEMS teachers are qualified and trained. And they must love teaching. But that is not enough for us. A great GEMS candidate can see more in a child than they see in themselves. And they understand that GEMS students will show them more than they will ever teach from the front of a classroom.

How we hire

Don't worry. We won't ask you to jump through hoops or ride through the air. We've made the process of applying for teaching jobs overseas simple. After all, we've been recruiting teachers, teaching support staff and education professionals for over 60 years.

  • We look for passionate, expert and forward thinking people
  • If that sounds like you, share your experience with us by sending us your CV, meeting us at a recruitment event or coming in to see us directly at a corporate office or local school
  • We'll have a conversation together about the roles we currently have available, and whether you would like to be considered for other opportunities
  • You'll have an interview and receive feedback
We will always keep your experience in mind for future roles (as long as you want us to!)
  • Recruitment support

Unlike teaching recruitment agencies, we're the people you will be working with every day. We get to know each other personally, right from the word go. That way we can answer any questions you might have about a career with GEMS, and you can benefit from having a direct window into our wonderful world of learning.

The support doesn't stop when you are successfully placed in a role with us. For many new recruits, working at GEMS might mean moving to a new country, leaving family behind at home, or moving them too. Coming from a family of teachers who moved from Kerala in India to Dubai, we know just how that feels. That's why we've put together some helpful resources below.

We don't work with recruitment agencies or agents. Always make sure you are dealing with a real GEMS recruiter when applying for a job with us. Any concerns? Please contact us.
