Any GEMS student or Graduate as specified in the opportunity listing.
When is the program going to launch?
The program is open and we encourage all those interested to start an application on our partner site https://gems.oliv.com please note that in order to seek out opportunities that you must complete a full profile and fit the required criteria as mentioned in the postings.
When will more opportunities become available?
We are continuously adding more opportunities with our partners Oliv and encourage you to check on a regular basis. In addition your school may have specific opportunities related to your program/curriculum and we encourage you to follow up with your school counselor and/or career coordinator.
What if I don't like my placement?
We all can experience challenges in the work place. It is important to discuss with the employment partner or your career liaison about the challenges you are facing and how they can be rectified.
Will I get paid?
We believe in individuals being compensated for their hard work although some positions may not be paid or on a volunteering basis. Sometimes having the experience on your resume is worth more than a paycheck!
How old do I need to be?
As per the Ministry of Labor, students are allowed to complete training periods and fill in positions in the private sector. For training purposes students aged 12- 18 years should produce a written consent letter from their legal guardian. Students between the ages of 15 to 18 years will require work permits for part-time work and paid placements.

Do I need a Resume/CV?
Absolutely, there are many tools and resources through your school counselor that should be able to help you with this. Employers need to see your experience and sometimes portfolio to ensure you are a good fit for them and the role.
